Going to University today is expensive. A typical UK undergraduate may graduate with £60,000 worth of loans. Meanwhile, graduate students must assemble a jigsaw puzzle of funding from ever-diminishing scholarship providers.
How does the hardship fund help?
Many students in a precarious but balanced financial position can suddenly tip over into real hardship - a broken laptop or family redundancy can spell potential disaster. The hardship fund is there to help at that critical moment, typically with a grant of £300 or £1,000.
What difference will I make?
Many students are struggling with cost-of-living pressures. Your gift to the hardship fund helps ensure financial worries don't distract a student from their work, knowing that they can afford rent and groceries when times are tight. The College also offers budgeting advice alongside grants, to help recipients stay on track.
A message from student Carys
As a current student at Worcester, I've seen for myself the difference that donations make for students. The last few years have been hard for us, as the cost of living has continued to rise. We are so grateful Worcester can give us support, thanks to students from previous generations giving back. It means the world to me and my friends.
